1. Become a nurse

Nursing is a wonderful career, and it is an excellent way to get into the healthcare sector. Before you can qualify as a nurse, you will need to get your BSN license. While it might take a while to get the right qualifications, the career will be fulfilling. You will work alongside doctors and surgeons to deliver the best possible level of care to sick people. This career takes nerves of steel, but a heart of gold.

2. Work for a charity

If there is a particular area that you have an interest in, you might want to work within that field. For example, if you want to help the homeless, you could find a local charity that does just that. There are many roles within this sector that could be right for you. You don’t need to have a wealth of qualifications to work for a charitable organization. You just need to have a passion for helping people and doing what’s right. Many of the skills, you will need, you can learn on the job. That means that you can go in at an entry level position and work your way up through the ranks.

3. Consider counselling

It takes a whole load of time to train as a counselor, but it is one of the most enriching careers you can ever imagine. First, you will need to get a degree in social science or humanities. After that, you should complete your counseling master’s degree. You will also need to get some in-house training to complete your qualification. In total, it will take you around five to six years to qualify as a counselor. Then, you can set up a practice and get clients to come to you.

4. Become a childminder

If you want to work with children, you should first get a police record check. That way you can make sure that people have peace of mind when they leave their kids with you. You don’t need any qualifications to work with children and care for them. You should be a patient and caring person if you hope to undertake this role. If you already have children yourself, you know what it takes to keep control of them. You can use these transferable skills and start a child-minding service in your area.

5. Care for the elderly

Old people need a lot of care and attention on a daily basis. If you have a lot of time to give, you could look after elderly people in a home. You will need to complete basic tasks on their behalf. For example, you might need to make food for them or help them wash. Being a carer is not for everybody, but it is a rewarding role. If you decide this career path is for you, you can get on-the-job training from a local agency. You may have to pay for the classes or work a certain amount of hours in exchange for them.
